Assistant Professor in Computational Condensed Matter Theory
The Department of Physics, within the School of Physical Sciences at the University of California, San Diego (www.physics.ucsd.edu), invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor in the area of Computational Condensed Matter Theory. Candidates must have a strong record of research accomplishment in application and/or development of first-principles computational methods such as density functional theory for the study of quantum materials, an innovative research plan, and a demonstrated ability or potential for excellence in teaching and mentoring. All positions are subject to availability of funding.
Assistant Professor (Tenure Track) : Computational Biophysical Sciences
The DEPARTMENT OF CHEMISTRY AND BIOCHEMISTRY (https://chemistry.ucsd.edu/) and DEPARTMENT OF PHYSICS (https://physics.ucsd.edu/) within the School of Physical Sciences at UC San Diego invite applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor in computational biophysical sciences at the nexus of statistical mechanics, data science, artificial intelligence, and machine learning. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to engage in multidisciplinary collaborations across various departments, and contribute to an environment that fosters excellence, diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Student Proctor (Physics) - STDT2
The student will primarily serve as a proctor for students with disabilities while they take examinations, while occasionally serving as a proctor for large lecture course quiz sections. As a proctor, the student will monitor students during the examination period and answer administrative (not course content) questions only as authorized/instructed by the faculty supervisor. The student will work with Student Affairs staff for scheduling and for check-in and check-out.
Physics Student Affairs Student Worker - STDT 2
The student worker will perform duties, including:
- Front Desk Coverage
- Data Entry
- Filing (both physical & organization on google drive files)
- Event planning & event day assistance
- Design flyers, posters, etc.
- Email triage
- Office organization
