Looking at light from a single element (Neon or Hydrogen or......) with a diffraction grating. Results: Light is spread out into a rainbow of fruit flavors, but only certain, SPECIFIC flavors are there. This was an example of an emission spectra, what would an absorption spectra look like for the same elements?
