Catalog Course Description:
Third quarter of a three-quarter introductory
physics course, geared towards life-science majors. Focus in waves,
optics and modern physics.
Prerequisites:
Mathematics 10C or 20B; Physics 1B.
Corequisite: Physics 1CL laboratory
Textbook: Serway and Faughn, College
Physics, 7th Edition, Thomson/Brooks/Cole

(5 exams) 64 points. Bring your own scantron.
Final Exam:
36 points
Homework Policy and
Discussion Sessions:
Homework will be assigned with specified due date.
Homework will not be collected; however, you are responsible for all
assigned problems and ask questions during sessions/office hours to
prepare for exams.
Exam Policy:
There will be 5 exams and 1
comprehensive final exam. Lowest score dropped.
Absolutely no
make-up exam.
Calculator will be allowed during the exam, but
absolutely no other electronic devices such as cell phones,
dictionaries, electronic organizers and laptops.

Academic Dishonesty: Cheating, plagiarism, and other forms of academic dishonesty are not
acceptable and will not be tolerated. Consequences include receiving a
