The table linked in above has three columns. Leftmost is your quiz id number. Middle is the clicker record, right most is the actual grade you got.
The difference between the middle and right column is due to the 10 Mo/We lectures for which the clicker wasn't used. For more details on clicker grading see below.
Here's the situation with the clicker grades:
- The first round of grading of the clicker responses was done wrong. One of the days was graded based on result instead of attendance. My apologies for that. The corrected grade sheets are now linked in above for you to check.
- It appears that there may be irregularities in the way the clicker grades were recorded. The technology used does not seem to be 100% trustworthy as best as I can tell from the student response of widespread disbelief in their clicker grade. There's not much I can do about this other than apologize for the technology used.
- The course is graded on an absolute scale. If I were to throw out all clicker grades then this would help nobody.
- The clicker grade can be used to replace the second lowest quiz grade if it is higher than that grade. Otherwise it is useless.
- The clicker grade is calculated such that all Mondays & Wednesdays where the clicker did not work, or I have no record will count as 1 point for everybody with a registered clicker. Days on which we had more than one clicker question count more than days with just one clicker question.
- The tally is as follows: 1 point on 10/26,31, 11/2,7,14,21,28. 2 points on 10/17,24, adding up to a maximum of 11 points.
- In addition, there were the following dates without clicker questions. These are counted as 1 point each for everybody. 9/26,28; 10/3,5,10,12,19; 11/9,16,23. This adds up to a total of 10 points that everybody gets for free.
- The grades have been updated to reflect this. This grade is then final, except for clicker registration problems. If your clicking was not recorded for some of the days we used the clicker then this is unfortunate but there's not much I can do about it, other than apologize profusely.
