Average score on midterm 1 was 9.2 (/32), median was 7, standard deviation was 8.
We will have a makeup takehome midterm 1 on Friday 11/7, to be handed in on
Monday 11/10 at the lecture.
-
There will be 2 problems, you should need about 1 hour to do them. You can
take as much time as needed.
- It will be 'open book', however only class textbook and
individual class notes are allowed.
- Individual work is required.
- Any breaking of these rules (consultation or discussion or
collaboration with others, searching the
internet for help, etc) constitutes academic dishonesty and is subject to
the consequences discussed in "UCSD Policy on Integrity of Scholarship"
(General Catalog).
- It will be worth a maximum of 15 points, to be added to the score of
the in-class midterm 1.
- It is optional
- For the overall grade, first midterm will be worth 30 points. If you have
more than 30 points adding the in-class and takehome midterm 1, the extra
points (up to 10) are extra credit that will be used
towards the overall course grade.
Exam was distributed today in class; you can also find it
