One of the biggest mysteries in physics today is the nature of dark matter. Our group is interested to search for dark matter using sensitive detectors at deep underground laboratories. A positive direct detection of dark matter by these low background detectors would give us a way to probe the new physics beyond the Standard Model. Our group has pioneered the development of liquid xenon detectors for the search of dark matter. We increased the dark matter search sensitivity dramatically with the XENON10 and XENON100 experiments at Gran Sasso Underground Laboratory (LNGS) and PandaX experiment at China Jinping Underground Laboratory (CJPL). Currently our group is a member of the XENON1T dark matter experiment at LNGS. XENON1T is scheduled to start operation in 2015 and have the potential to see the first interactions of dark matter with the massive 3.3 ton liquid xenon detector.
