UCSD Physics Department Employment Opportunities

The UCSD Physics Department employs approximately 150 individuals in a wide variety of academic and non-academic positions to support our unusually broad range of exciting research and instructional programs. In addition, we employ almost 100 undergraduate and graduate students each year as Graduate Student Researchers, Teaching Assistants, Tutors, and/or Readers.

Non-academic positions are found primarily in the areas of administrative support, computing and information technology, technical and research support, fiscal administration, and student affairs. Some employees are affiliated with a single research group; others are housed in one of several departmental service centers.

We seek to hire exceptional individuals with superb skills for all our positions. Details on current vacancies in Physics appear below. You may also wish to review information on UC's excellent health and retirement benefits, check out the campus' home page or take a virtual tour of the campus and its beautiful surroundings.

To assist applicants who may have an interest in employment opportunities for a spouse/partner, please see the UCSD Web sites for the Academic Job Opportunities Bulletin, the Staff Employment Opportunity Bulletin, or employment opportunities at other education and research institutions in San Diego. Applicants for ladder-rank faculty positions may also wish to view the web site for the Partner Opportunities Program.
