Physics Professor Ivan Schuller has been appointed as a recipient of the 2015 Lise Meitner Award He is being recognized for his contributions to physics and in particular for "For creating the field of metallic superlattices and recognizing the impact of these materials on magnetism and superconductivity".

Gothenburg Lise Meitner Award is awarded by the Gothenburg Physics Centre to a scientist who made a breakthrough discovery in physics. The prize was established in 2006 by the Department of Physics at Gothenburg and holds the honor, EUR 3000 and a work of art with an engraved plaque. In conjunction with the award ceremony the laureate holds a lecture. The Gothenburg Lise Meitner Award is not only about awarding well merited physisists, but also to enrich the scientific environment in Gothenburg. The event is supported by the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences through the Nobel Institute of Physics and by the municipality of Kungaelv.
